This covers the spout very well, and it can be tightened by pulling on the flipper on either side. Probably won't work with a spout without a shower pull because the whale will just slide off. Our bath spout does not have a shower diverter on it so the whale slides right off no matter how tight we make it. As you can imagine this renders the product useless.
